A pair of witch bells for your door, hand-knotted in cotton. A spiral macrame loop slips over a standard doorknob, a neat wrapped collar gathers the cords, and a fringe of beads and two brass bells chimes every time the door opens.

Witch bells come from old European folk tradition: bells hung at the door were said to ring away negative energy and unwanted spirits before they could cross the threshold. They are also a handy tool for teaching a dog to ring when it needs to go outside.

Skill level: beginner-friendly.

Finished size: about 13 in long, with a loop about 2 3/4 in wide that fits standard doorknobs.
